Shift Gate Plate for Can-Am Defender HD10, HD9 and HD8

Defender shift gate with marked selector positions

This black shift gate is a replacement plate for selected Can-Am Defender HD10, HD9 and HD8 vehicles. Its curved outline surrounds an open selector slot, with separate recesses beside the P, R, N, H and L markings. One mounting hole sits at each end of the plate.

Compare the plate on your Defender before ordering. The slot profile, mounting points and position of the lettering need to agree with your console and shift lever. A matching engine designation alone does not confirm that this gate fits your vehicle.

Check the model year and shifter

The listed application range covers selected HD10 models from 2017-2025, HD8 models from 2017-2021, and HD9 models from 2022-2025. HD9 entered the Defender lineup for the 2022 model year, replacing HD8. Check your exact vehicle package and installed shifter; MAX, 6x6 and cab configurations should be confirmed individually.

The marked positions correspond to park, reverse, neutral, high and low range. The plate must let the lever reach the correct position without binding or resting against the wrong recess. It does not establish the condition or adjustment of the shift cable, linkage or gearbox.

Keep the original gate available for comparison and follow the service instructions for your specific Defender. Confirm correct gear selection after installation. If the lever binds or the indicated position does not agree with the gearbox, resolve that issue before operating the vehicle.
