SPR insertion and extraction

This combo kit includes the 21960 insertion tool and the 21970 extraction tool for self-piercing rivets (SPRs). The 21960 installs replacement rivets; the 21970 pushes existing rivets out. Each tool has a steel frame and a hex-head forcing screw.

Operate the tools with a 3/4 in or 19 mm socket and a 1/2 in drive impact wrench. The frames need access around the flange so the screw and rivet can line up.

For door-skin or panel-flange work, follow the vehicle manufacturer's repair procedure for the rivet type, fastening location and permitted tooling. Check flange clearance and rivet compatibility before ordering. The 21960 and 21970 references alone do not establish approval for structural joints or compatibility with every SPR size.
