How the pair is used
In the specified overdrive procedure, the 6311 straightedge bridges the housing face while the 6312 gauge seats against the planetary shoulder. A separate measuring instrument reads the distance between the straightedge and the gauge. Compare that reading with the spacer chart for the transmission being rebuilt.
