Two replacement seals for a matching Ski-Doo crankshaft

This aftermarket pair contains two black rubber crankshaft seals in different sizes. Both have a sealing lip with a visible spring on the inner side. The larger seal has a broad patterned face; the smaller seal has a narrower ring-shaped body.

Match both seals to the engine

Compare references 121320, 121397 and 501497 with the required seals in your engine's parts list. Listed applications include selected Ski-Doo 600, 700 and 800R engines, including Summit 800R applications within the 2007-2017 listing range. Confirm the exact engine version and the seal required at each crankshaft position.

The two size codes are listed as 30×42×3/7 and 40×80×7. Compare the markings, lip profile and thickness with the removed seals. Confirm the shaft diameter, housing bore and installation depth from the engine's service information; the stepped 3/7 designation should not be treated as one uniform thickness.

Prepare for seal replacement

The supplied-item photos show the two seals. Grease, a syringe, bearings and installation tools are not shown as supplied. Confirm any lubricant needed for your engine's bearing and seal service before ordering.

Inspect the crankshaft sealing surfaces and the housing seats for damage before fitting. Follow the engine-specific procedure for seal orientation, seating depth, lubricant and crankcase reassembly. A seal replacement does not correct a worn shaft or damaged bearing. No temperature rating or service-life figure is specified for these seals.
