Drive shaft seal compressor for pump installation

This 13371-style tool is used during installation of a matching Stanadyne fuel injection pump onto an engine-retained drive shaft. Its curved jaws compress the fuel-side shaft seal as the pump is guided into position.

The pictured supply is one silver-colored tool with two long arms and open circular jaws. It does not include replacement seals, a drive shaft or the pump itself.

Identify the pump by its complete model number and check that its service procedure calls for a 13371 seal compressor. Stanadyne pumps use different shaft and seal arrangements; the brand name alone does not establish tool compatibility.

This compressor performs a different task from the separate tool used to place a new seal onto the shaft. Confirm which stage of the repair you need to carry out before selecting the tool.

Keep the seal correctly positioned

Follow the applicable pump and engine procedure for seal orientation, lubrication and drive alignment. If the pump resists sliding into place, stop and inspect the seal position rather than forcing the assembly together. A folded or displaced seal needs attention before installation continues.

Jaw diameter, arm length and metal grade are not specified for this replacement tool. Check the working-end clearance against your shaft and seal. The 13371 reference identifies the tool application; it does not indicate Stanadyne manufacture.
