Before ordering

Match the vehicle connector and mounting location to the photos. Model year alone does not establish fitment. This 7-way kit is not a direct replacement for a 13-pin trailer socket used in other markets.

Have Tesla or a qualified installer check the vehicle's existing tow package, body controller and software configuration. Some Model Y body controllers lack the hardware needed to power trailer lights. Adding this harness does not provide the full Tesla tow package or activate Trailer Mode.

Electrical and towing requirements

Tesla specifies its own electrical connections and prohibits directly splicing trailer wiring into the vehicle. Confirm this aftermarket kit's suitability with Tesla before purchase; Tesla approval is not claimed.

Follow the vehicle's regional owner's manual for towing limits and equipment. Verify that Trailer Mode is active and manually check all trailer lights before towing. Auxiliary power depends on the vehicle's low-voltage battery and tow hardware, so a 7-way socket alone does not guarantee it. Route the cable clear of the ground and leave enough slack for turns.
