16296 three-wire winch remote socket harness
This replacement socket harness provides the plug-in connection for a compatible wired winch hand remote. It uses reference 16296 and has three attached leads with crimped ring terminals. One socket assembly is supplied, including the tethered cap and the two screw-and-nut mounting sets shown.
The black socket has a two-point mounting flange and a keyed round connector body. Its face has several molded openings, with three metal contact positions visible. Match the contact layout and keyed profile to your existing remote plug before ordering.

Confirm your remote and control-pack match
Check that your winch's parts information calls for a 16296-style three-wire socket. Compare the plug key, metal contact positions, flange mounting points and lead-end arrangement with the part being replaced. Three wires alone do not establish compatibility with a winch or remote.
Verify the circuit connections using documentation for your exact control pack. Wire colors identify the leads in the photos; they do not specify power, ground or direction functions. No pinout, voltage or current rating is supplied here.
Cover and connection checks
The cap stays attached to the socket by its tether and covers the connector face when the remote is removed. No waterproof or ingress-protection rating has been verified for this assembly.
Before replacement, check whether damage is confined to the socket and leads or also affects the mating plug and control pack. Have the electrical connections and remote operation checked against the winch's service information before returning it to use.
