Move the front seat forward or rearward

This seat relocation kit provides a 1.5 or 2 in offset for 1967-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird applications. Four brackets serve one front bucket seat or one front bench seat. Relocating both front bucket seats requires two kits.

The brackets have two plain mounting holes and one threaded hole each. The supplied 5/16-24 bolts thread into the brackets; the plain holes measure 5/16 in in diameter. The two offsets are mounting-position choices, subject to the vehicle's seat and floor mounting arrangement.

Floor pans and seat mounting brackets vary across this year range, and some installations require modifications. Have a qualified installer check the seat tracks, floor attachment points and original safety-belt anchorage arrangement before choosing a kit. Compatibility with every factory manual or power seat is not confirmed. Seat-belt anchor relocation is not specified for this kit.

The brackets can sit above or below the carpet where the mounting arrangement allows. The installer must determine the correct floor fasteners and any additional hardware, then follow the service procedures for the vehicle's exact year and seat configuration.

Check the seating position after installation

Confirm that the seat and seatback lock securely and the belt buckles and anchorages remain sound. With the seatback upright, the lap belt should fit low and snug over the hips, and the shoulder belt should cross the shoulder and chest. On vehicles with airbags, choose a position that maintains control of the pedals and steering wheel while keeping the driver as far back as practical. Follow the vehicle's owner's manual for its restraint requirements.
